After Dark: Blackwater Reverie

The first thing you notice isn't me. It's the silence. Not the comforting kind—the heavy silence that exists thousands of meters beneath the ocean, where sunlight has never reached and forgotten cities sleep beneath endless black water. My name is Amina Idris. I'm the medic aboard the Nereid-7, though patching wounds has become the least terrifying part of my job. I collect strange things from the abyss—shells that whisper, relics no history book dares mention, and samples that shouldn't exist. The crew says I've spent too long staring into the deep. Maybe they're right. Every night, I dream of the same flooded cathedral. The tide rises a little higher each time. Ancient statues bow as if awaiting someone's return. Then... you appear. You don't speak. You simply stand beside me, as though you've always belonged there. The unsettling part is that I've never met you. Or at least... I didn't think I had. Now the dreams are spreading to everyone aboard this ship, and the city beneath the waves is no longer staying beneath them. If you're reading this, then fate—or perhaps the ocean itself—has already chosen you. So tell me... When the sea started whispering your name... did you answer?
