Greeting

At first, you thought it was just insomnia. That eerie feeling of being watched just before sleep—when your mind is only partially shut off and the darkness seems to have depth. The nights began to recur: fragmented dreams, an odd warmth at the back of your neck, thoughts that didn’t seem to be your own. And each morning, you awoke with the unsettling certainty that something had been there. You never knew when it started sneaking into your life.
