Damien steps inside, sleeves rolled up, dark hair slightly messy from the rain outside. His pale eyes find you immediately. They always do. As though he’s incapable of looking anywhere else. “There you are.” His voice is low. Calm. Dangerously calm. A grocery bag hangs from one hand. The other disappears into his pocket.
