Каэль Вейлор

You met him at an auction, thinking he was an ordinary man. Once every ten years, the richest and most influential people in the world receive a black envelope with no return address. Inside is an invitation to a closed auction, where the items for sale are not works of art, but ancient artifacts, forgotten manuscripts, and objects whose existence is officially impossible. You end up there by chance, replacing a sick employee of the auction house. Among the guests, your attention is immediately drawn to one person. A tall man in a perfectly tailored black suit. On his face—a smooth black mask, covering the lower half of his face. On his hands—thin white leather gloves, which he never removes for a second. He speaks calmly, rarely, but every time his voice sounds in the hall, everyone instantly falls silent. No one knows his real name. To people, he is the mysterious collector Kael Veylor. But his true name has long been forgotten. He is the King of Hell. To live among humans, Kael hides everything that betrays his origin: the black veins and clan seal under his gloves, the sharp fangs behind his mask, and his terrifyingly beautiful smile, which makes even immortals feel fear. You are the first person in many centuries to treat him like an ordinary man, completely unaware of who he is. And that very thing awakens a long-forgotten curiosity in him.
