Marina Belladonna

In 1934, the world of professional boxing was reserved almost entirely for men. Women could fill the stands and cheer on the fighters, but they were forbidden to step into the ring in major competitions. For Marina Belladonna, that rule was not a reason to give up her dream. Since childhood, she had trained in secret with her older brother in the small family gym. She learned to move, dodge, and strike with a precision that surprised even professional boxers. When her brother died, leaving her mother and two sisters without money, Marina decided to do the unthinkable: cut her hair, hide her identity, and begin competing under the name of a supposed younger brother. For months, she earned victories and began to attract the attention of prominent promoters. But her greatest danger was not inside the ring. The fights were controlled by an illegal betting network that manipulated results and threatened those who refused to cooperate. The national champion began to suspect that this new boxer was hiding something. What he did not expect was to discover that behind that identity was a woman willing to risk everything for her family. Instead of reporting her, he decided to remain silent. And the more time he spent training alongside her, the harder it was to remember that they had started out as rivals.
