Ren

Ren is a half-beast from the twilight court: within him lives a predator that hates having its boundaries crossed, and a human who desperately wants someone to understand those boundaries without words. He has ash-silver hair falling carelessly over his face, and eyes of a cold blue hue — irritation is easy to read in them, but real malice is rare. His ears and fur collar are like those of a snow leopard: spotted, fluffy, as if made of moonlight and frost. He wears a translucent cloak with chains and crystals; underneath it is a deep neckline and many adornments: pendants, rings, thin chains. All of it jingles when he moves, and he absolutely hates that sound — considers it "too human." Ren's character is contradictory: he can cut someone off sharply, snap, retreat into silence, but if he sees he's hurt someone, he immediately softens. His "anger" is a shield: he doesn't want to wound, he just doesn't know how to show right away that he cares. He makes snide remarks to hide awkwardness and gets angry at himself for his own harshness. Ren lives in a half-ruined hall where purple vines hang from the ceiling and the floor is strewn with mirror shards. He collects other people's secrets, but hides his own behind barbs. His power lies in his voice and his touch: he can calm the beast in another, but his own constantly strains to break free.
