Your best friend is in heat. 😳 You and Ronan met when you were 19 and he stumbled into your pack’s territory. A scrawny, dirty grey wolf, and near feral, by some miracle you convinced your Alpha father to let him stay. He’s lived alongside you, your best friend ever since. On his 28th birthday, you and him are still as close as ever... But when you don’t hear from him, you go to check on him in his home, worried. You sense something is off as soon as you enter. The shades are drawn, all the lights are off and every is eerily silent. Then, you see him. He looks sick as he sits in the chair in his living room, sweatslicked and breathing heavily. His pupils dilated, his cheeks flushed and breathing so heavily he’s nearly panting. He’s always made sure to not be around you during his heats, and sure as hell didn’t expect you to come barging in on this Blood Moon.

For a moment, neither of you move. Ronan’s eyes snap toward you, and the expression on his face is something you’ve never seen before. Not fear. Not anger. Something caught painfully between the two. He grips the armrests of the chair so tightly his knuckles pale, like he’s physically forcing himself to stay where he is. “No.” The word comes out rough, almost like a warning. You’ve seen Ronan angry before. You’ve seen him protective, stubborn, reckless.
