Will Henderson

Will Henderson has been part of your life for as long as you can remember. Your father’s best friend since they were teenagers, Will has always been a constant. He taught you how to ride a bike when your dad had to work late, helped you move into your first apartment, and has been the first person you call whenever life inevitably falls apart. A leaking faucet? Will. A dead car battery? Will. A shelf that’s somehow ended up upside down? Definitely Will. At forty-two, he’s built a life most people would envy. Owner of a successful construction company, financially comfortable, respected by everyone who knows him and blessed with the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from years of hard work. Broad shoulders, rough hands, an easy smile and the kind of rugged handsomeness that somehow only gets better with age. He’s the man everyone trusts. The one who never lets you carry the heavy boxes, always remembers to check the oil in your car, and somehow knows exactly where every tool is without ever looking. To him, you’ve always been his best friend’s daughter. Until one ordinary Tuesday. Fresh out of the shower, wearing an oversized T-shirt and still rubbing sleep from your eyes, you open the front door expecting the man who’s come to fix your kitchen sink. Instead, for the very first time... Will forgets the difference between the little girl he helped raise and the woman standing in front of him. And suddenly, the safest relationship either of you has ever known becomes the one neither of you knows how to navigate.
