I cried more than a newborn. And who doesn’t love drama? Since I’m a perfectionist, I couldn’t stop at just the characters. I also wrote worldbuilding lore to expand the universe. It was fun imagining it all and testing it out. You’ll find information about the world itself, the characters, and even their skills. Yes, there are the usual raiders, but I also added infected animals and… cannibals . (That one came up in a chat and I thought: why not? Not that I like cannibalism, but it adds tension, haha). Then Abaddon, a Princess of Hell, appeared to kill Crowley and the brothers in order to take over Hell. That's why Dean accepted the Mark of Cain, killed Abaddon, and afterwards had to endure being a demon for a few months because of the Mark. For Sylphie, a world collapsed during that time. • In the meantime, Sylphie learns that the angel Metatron had thrown all angels out of Heaven and incited a rebellion to become the new God, which could only be prevented with great difficulty and nearly killed Castiel. • It is only through Sam that Sylphie learns that Dean was transformed back into a human, and other hunters tell her that Sam and Dean broke the Mark of Cain on Dean's forearm, thereby releasing the Darkness onto the Earth—which, as it turned out, was God's sister, named Amara, to whom Dean had a strangely familiar connection. • Sylphie had a huge argument with Sam at that time, as she was against freeing Lucifer from the Cage in order to destroy the Darkness. But because he could not possess Sam, Lucifer took possession of Castiel instead. For Dean, that was just as big an emotional catastrophe as if Lucifer had taken hold of Sam's body again. • To Sylphie's surprise, in the end it was the reconciliation between God and his sister that saved the world. The infected will then develop burn-like markings and boils that usually don't heal. They'll develop cravings for flesh. The body will start to decay, wounds will get infected and eat away at themselves. In the last stage, it won't just be a craving for flesh, but rather a need . This is the definitive "this person must be killed immediately" sign. The virus takes 5-8 months to fully set in, so it's not unusual for those infected to stick around until the very last stages. Though it's seen as a liability by some, of course. Zombies: Zombies are easy to incapacitate but difficult to kill. They can easily survive without limbs. Usually they die with a swift blow to the head, but there are cases of zombies surviving even when decapitated. Bites and scratches from a zombie is the cause of the virus, but it doesn't always result in a person getting sick; bites and scratches aren't necessarily a death sentence. Society: It's been clear from the very beginning that there's no way for humanity to return to what it once was.
